Ride Information & Terms

Taxi 428 follows the official taxi regulations and fare guidelines established by the Government of Aruba.

Government-Regulated Fares

Taxi fares in Aruba are regulated and approved by the Government of Aruba.

Drivers are not permitted to charge above the approved fare structure.

Currency & Exchange Rate

All fares are displayed in U.S. Dollars (USD) and Aruban Florins (AFL).

Official exchange rate:

USD $1.00 = AFL 1.80

Shared Rides

If the first passenger declines a shared ride, the driver may not pick up additional passengers during that trip.

When multiple passenger groups share a ride to the same destination, the fare may be divided among those passengers travelling together to that destination.

Official Taxi Fare Information

The official Aruba taxi fare schedule is published by the Department of Public Transportation (DTP).

Passengers are encouraged to review the official fare information at Taxi.aw before travelling.

Damage & Cleaning Fees

Passengers are responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Wet clothing or towels causing excessive cleaning

  • Damage caused by sharp objects

  • Damage to vehicle equipment or interior surfaces

The passenger may be charged for repair, cleaning, and any loss of income resulting from the vehicle being unavailable for service.

Surcharges

A surcharge of:

USD $5.00 / AFL 9.00

applies during:

  • Sundays

  • Official public holidays

  • Daily between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM

  • December 24 through January 1

Recognised public holidays include:

  • New Year's Day

  • Dia di Betico

  • Carnival Monday

  • National Flag & Anthem Day

  • Good Friday

  • Easter Monday

  • King's Day

  • Labor Day

  • Ascension Day

  • Christmas Day

  • Boxing Day

Airport Luggage Policy

Airport fares include:

  • One (1) piece of luggage

  • One (1) backpack, handbag, or carry-on item

Additional luggage is subject to a surcharge of:

USD $3.00 / AFL 5.40 per item

For non-airport trips, use of the vehicle's trunk may incur an additional charge of:

USD $3.00 / AFL 5.40

Minimum Fare

The minimum taxi fare is:

USD $10.00 / AFL 18.00

This applies to all rides regardless of distance.

Waiting time is charged at:

USD $1.00 / AFL 1.80 per minute

Waiting time begins when:

  • The driver arrives at the agreed pickup location and waits for the passenger.

  • A stop is requested during the trip and the driver is required to wait.

Passenger Capacity & Additional Passengers

Published fares apply to transportation of up to four (4) passengers.

For groups larger than four passengers:

USD $3.00 / AFL 5.40 will be charged for each additional passenger.

Maximum vehicle capacity is:

Seven (7) passengers

Lost & Found

Taxi 428 is not responsible for personal belongings left inside the vehicle.

However, any items found will be reported and delivered to the Department of Public Transportation (DTP) or the nearest police station whenever reasonably possible.

Passengers who believe they have left an item behind are encouraged to contact Taxi 428 as soon as possible.

Taxi 428 may be hired on an hourly basis.

USD $60.00 / AFL 108.00 per hour

Minimum booking:

2 hours

Actual fares may vary based on waiting time, luggage, additional passengers, surcharges, route changes, or other circumstances permitted under Aruba's official taxi regulations.

Other Guidelines

Ensuring your safety and the integrity of our service is our highest priority. Please review these essential rules before your journey.

Do not obstruct the driver's view of the road or interfere with the vehicle's operation while in motion.

For your safety, please keep your seatbelt fastened throughout the entire ride.

Passengers are responsible for their own belongings. We are not liable for any lost or stolen items.

Respect the vehicle and the driver. Any disruptive behavior will result in immediate service termination.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the taxi.

Please dispose of any trash before leaving the vehicle.
